Itinerary:
Saturday April 9 LAX - Rome
Get your taste buds primed as we depart from
LAX to one of the most wonderful countries in
the world.
Sunday April 10 LAX - Rome
Welcome to the Eternal City of Rome, Italy.
Upon arrival transfer to the hotel for check in
and remainder of the day is free to rest.
Monday April 11 Rome
Today we take a full day of touring this
incredible city. We visit the Basilica of St. Peter
and the Vatican Museum and then after lunch
we will enter the monumental Coliseum.
Dinner is at a local restaurant. Beverly Hills Hotel (D)
Tuesday April 12 Rome
After breakfast we board our bus to drive less
than an hour southeast to Frascati.
Following a brief orientation of the city we
continue to Cantina Comandini for our first wine
tasting. A small snack is served with our taste
from this locali that resembles an old Roman
wine cave.
From Frascati we head back to Rome for lunch
at a local restaurant and then another bit of
tasting at Tenuta Di Colonna. Beverly Hills Hotel (B, L)
Wednesday April 13 Rome - Assisi
Off we go to
a notable
wine region
in Italy,
Orvieto. In
less than 2 hours we
arrive at a funicular
that will take us to
the upper part of the
old town to visit the San Domenico Church. After
the charming view and tour of the upper area
we take a minibus to the lower part of the city
and have lunch in a local restaurant.
We board our bus and head north to Assisi
where you will have time to explore this
charming little city on your own. Roseo Hotel (B, L)
Thursday April 14 Assisi - Siena - Florence
We have another lovely breakfast and take a 2
hour drive to Siena. We have a short walking
tour of the city and enjoy some more wine at
Gallo Nero; where we try three classic Italian
wines.
Lunch will be in a typical Italian restaurant and
then onto the Chianti district to the pleasant town
of Greve. Greve in Chianti -situated at what was
the crossroads of an important road axis in past
times. It developed predominantly as a market
town, with a large market being held in the
unusual triangular piazza lined with porticoes,
which is still always busy and lively.
We can't visit Chianti without tasting more wine.
Our visit will be to Castello Verrazzano.
Our final destination for the day is the jewel
of the Renaissance, Florence. You will recognize
Florence from many movies like the film

Friday April 15 Florence
Today is dedicated to
a full day of touring
this magnificent city.
We visit the Uffizi
Museum and pay
homage to Michelangelo by viewing David and
that masterpiece of Architecture the Duomo of

Saturday April 16 Venice
This morning we head to the city of
Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet - Verona.
Upon arrival at this ancient Italian city we have
our wonderful Italian lunch and then try some of
the local wine at Villa Della Torre; included is an
in depth tour of the winery.
From Verona we venture southeast to the

Sunday April 17 Venice
In Venice our English speaking guide will show
us Venice on foot the beauty of this unique city.
We visit the Doges Palace with historic paintings
by Tintoretto, Bosch and other remarkable
Italian artists. Our guide will point out the
Bridge of Sighs just around the corner from San
Marco.
We are also given an
interesting tour of a
glass blowing factory- an emblematic craft
of
this area.
Tonight we celebrate
our wonderful

Monday April 18 Venice - LAX
Following our breakfast you will have time this
morning to do a little exploring on your own
before we depart for home.
With all of the remarkable experiences, flavors
and views of Italy it is now time to say Ciao as
we head back home.
