A Wine Tour of France

France has always been a favorite destination of Hermes Travel and Tours. We enjoy showing the different culture, history and regions of this complex and picturesque country. Here is another tour of France that will give the wine lover a tour that they will never forget.

Itinerary:

Thursday May 6 LAX
We board Air France in Los Angeles and the following day we arrive in the City of Lights, Paris, France.

Friday May 7 Paris
When we arrive we take an orientation tour of Paris before checking into our centrally located hotel. Hotel Castigilione (B, L)

Saturday May 8 Paris - Dijon - Paris
Morning after our breakfast we board one of the fastest trains in the world, the TGV and head south to Dijon in Burgundy. The premium wines of Burgundy are from the pinot noir grapes. Our tour includes tours of wineries, a wine market and the Hospices de Beaune, founded in 1443 as a paupers hospital and it remains famous today for the selling of local wines. We will return to Paris by way of the TGV. Hotel Castigilione (B, L)

Sunday May 9 Paris - Bourdeaux
We pack our bags and head further south to one of the top wine regions of the world, Bordeaux for two days. Hotel Saint Catherine (B, L)

Monday May 10 Bordeaux
We will have an entire day of touring several wineries and cities (Margaux, Pauillac, St. Julien, Medoc. . .) famous for their exquisite wines and scenic countryside. Hotel Saint Catherine (B, L)

Tuesday May 11 Bordeaux-Loire
We say au revoir to Bordeaux and drive north to the Loire Valley famous for its Castles and fine wines, such as Pouilly Fum, Sancerre and the ros of DAnjou. Hotel Univers (B, L)

Wednesday May 12 Loire - Paris
We could not leave this area without a visit to one of the most beautiful Castles in the region, Chenonceau. We then head back to Paris. Our Farewell Dinner will be a typical French restaurant on a hill top, artists village of Montmartre in Paris. Hotel Castigilione (B, D)

Thursday May 13 Paris - Reims - Paris
After another splendid breakfast we board our coach and take a leisurely tour of the French countryside as we head north to the capital city of the Champagne Region, Reims. We tour the historic cathedral in Reims, where the earlier kings of France were crowned. We have a tour of one of the caves of Champagne and have a little taste of the bubbly, ooh, Cest si bon. You will have a little time to explore the city on your own before we board our bus and return to our hotel in Paris. Hotel Castigilione (B, L)

Friday May 14 Paris - Los Angeles
We pack up after breakfast and head home to Los Angeles. If you prefer to remain in Paris for a few more days, Hermes Travel and Tours can make arrangements for you to stay longer.
